MY STORY

Recapturing the magic of the glory days of making records

Matt Brandon

The best records were made when teams of brilliant people came together in a vibey space and combined their talents to create something magical. Music is social. It is meant to be a shared experience. The creation of music is no different. There is no doubt technological advancements have made it possible to make amazing professional recordings on laptops in bedrooms. But I strongly believe the best work happens when people come together and inspire each other, and that's why I designed this space.

Hi, I'm Matt Brandon- recording artist, sideman guitar player, producer, and recording engineer. A bit artistic and a bit technical, I'm also a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering with a Mathematics Minor and credits for over 40 patents with the USPTO. That blend of art and science fits perfectly with my passion for audio production. I've been making recordings since I rented my first TASCAM 4-track as a teenager. Back in 2008 I launched my first commercial studio business in KY and produced notable recordings with a litany of talented artists until moving to Nashville in 2016 where I've lived and worked as a professional musician since. It was always my dream to relocate my studio here in Music City, USA. This year (2022) I've finally found the perfect location to launch my vision, and I'm so happy to share it with you! Already some exciting projects happening here at the grand re-opening!

It's all about channeling that magical teamwork experience that pulls the best out of you. My network of "wrecking crew" session players, additional engineers, and producers are ready to help, or you can bring your own team.

Let's make music!

Getting that polished sound that feels like a major label release is part art and part science. As both professional artist and electrical engineer, my background is uniquely qualified for this task. Precision editing tools preserve transparency when organic pitch and timing adjustments are required but can also be heavily applied when creativity demands. Premium D/A conversion, monitoring, and a critical ear with over a decade of experience ensures your mix will translate well into any environment. We'll get it right together.

MASTERING

Detailed project quotes upon request

Singles starting at $100/song

Multiple songs starting at $85/song

Mastering is the final post-production step before manufacturing and physical or digital distribution. Mastering will resolve level inconsistencies between songs and make your mixes comparatively loud with commercial releases. Special surgical tools retain dynamic content often lost when pushing RMS loudness level to common commercial levels. Mastering can also add sheen, polish, and stereo depth to a good mix.

If you ever walk into a recording and the engineer starts watching the clock, turn around and walk right out. If you want to walk into a studio and be greeted by an engineer that says, "let's both labor until we finish a product that we are both in love with,"  introduce yourself to Matt Brandon.
